Fusion Radio, the only local commercial radio station broadcasting from Basingstoke, has ceased transmissions today, 31st March 2024.
We're incredibly proud of what we created since we launched in spring 2023 - bringing a mix of great music and local information to the Basingstoke community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Despite only being on air for just under a year, we've gained the interest of hundreds of local people and organisations - online and on-air - so we wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for all the support we've received along the way.
We strongly believe there continues to be a place for a local commercial radio station in Basingstoke, and we hope to return to the airwaves in the future. However, running a radio station takes a larger commitment and level of investment than we can continue to provide at the moment. Additionally, the ongoing pause in transmissions on the Basingstoke DAB multiplex since autumn 2023 has impacted upon our growth plan to reach a wider audience across the town.
Our social media channels remain available if you need to contact us, however our phone line, SMS text number and email address are no longer in use, and we are no longer taking advertising or partnership enquiries. Entries to our competitions closed before we ceased broadcasting and all winners have been contacted.
So, it's goodbye for now. Hopefully you'll hear us broadcasting again in the future, but in the meantime thanks so much for your support and for tuning in to Fusion Radio - we hope you enjoyed listening to More Music, More Choice.
